Who We are

What is RIMAWARD ?

Rwanda International Movie Award is a special annual event started in 2012 with mission of putting CINEMA on the spotlight in Rwanda and awarding the local filmmakers in different categories. The event assembles the willing filmmakers, media and entrepreneurs.

Our Core Objective

To reward, promote and empower Rwandan, regional and International filmmakers to improve the quality of films produced.

Our Main Aims

-To put film industry on spotlight in Rwanda. - create exposure platform for the well-made films. -To identify our cinema industry and developing co-production path.

Our Goals

To Make a Positive impact in the edutainment industries, including film industries.

RIMAWARD Section

Rwanda international movie award (RIMA) is divided in three different sections:

Rwanda Movie Week

Rwanda Movie Week was was created to raise awareness for the profit of the young local film industry and combines the following activities: Screening of local films in different village of Rwanda > Meet your role model in your village > Organize capacity building workshops to improve quality of cultural content of films produced locally. > Involve Filmmakers into community works (umuganda).

Award ceremony night

is the annual awarding ceremony in which the effort of local filmmakers are rewarded in different categories.

Rwanda movie award Magazine

is very important section, and business orientation for the partners where we sell the product, offering samples, and increasing awareness about the brand through the magazine and others platform till next edition. Is also smart way for documenting and disseminating latest edition.
