Rwanda International Movie Awards is the annual awarding ceremony in which the effort of international, local and Region filmmakers are rewarded in different categories. The 1st edition of Rwanda Movie Awards was organised and launched in 2012, by Ishusho Arts, a Rwandan film organization.
The 7 past editions made this event a well known that
has a great success by reaching around 7,000 people
involved in both Movie week and the official ceremonies.
In this 2023 edition, this event targets to reach more
than 30,000 people all over the world

Rwanda International Movie Awards is the annual awarding ceremony in which
the effort of International, Local and Region filmmakers are rewarded in different categories.
The 1st edition of Rwanda Movie Awards was organised and launched in 2012, by Ishusho Arts, a Rwandan film organization.
Since then, every year the award ceremony is preceded by
Rwanda Movie Week. This one was created to raise awareness of young people to embrace the culture and potentially invest the film industry for employment. The events is made of the following activities:
Screening of local films in different cities of Rwanda; Take film actors out of the capital city to meet their fans; Organize capacity building trainings to empower local film makers in order improve quality of films produced locally; Involve Filmmakers into community works
